This week's Poetry Thursday poem:
Depression
The sun shines cheerfully outside
as children laugh and run
flowers bloom all around
The warm wind gently blows
But inside the darkness of my heart,
tears stream down the gray walls
that seperate me from life
and entrap me in their sorrow
I had originally planned to make a piece of art about this... I started a collage, and had the outside done, but how do you make dark gray walls, with tears sliding down to make prison bars? I wanted to draw it, but I can't do justice to the happy scene outside. Maybe one day, I'll do a mixed media work on this... I haven't given up, just expressed it in words instead of art for now. :o)
In other news... I joined the Hogwarts Sock Kit Swap! You'll find a pretty Ravenclaw linky on my sidebar (once I get un-lazy and actually put it on there) where you can sign up too.
Now I'm off for my weekly time with "my kids". Adios!

if I may
Depression for me
A downward spiral
with me in the middle
looming over and around me
darkness
deep dark hole
swirling fast lines whizz past me and around me
Im not much of a poet but I know how it feels
Jana I pray you arent and if you are I pray that God wraps His loving arms around you and holds you close
Enjoy your time with your "my kids" :) :) :)
Jana, you did a wonderful job of expressing what depression is like inside. "seperate me from life" is very powerful. HUGS
