Another Day Older...

Yesterday was probably the most eventful one I've ever had.

During the course of the day:

• I had to work (blek)
• I couldn't leave early
• I got stuck waiting on a train when I finally DID leave
• I ruined my skirt hunting mushrooms with James
• I thought I was gonna die of over-exertion, from trying to climb up a very steep hill while hurrying to get back to James's car so he could pick up his mom in time
• James car died, leaving us stranded along the roadside
• My friend Andrea had to come rescue us, which was a bit humiliating
• I ate at a restaurant with James & his family family, in my stained skirt, non-matching shirt, dirt in random places on my body from slips and slides down leaf-strewn hillsides, and hair flying every which way...

And ya know what???

It was the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes! Seriously! I had SO MUCH FUN!!!! (Except at work, but I don't consider that part of the day my "birthday") I actually got to spend TIME with James!!!! Alone! I felt like we were an old married couple... every time we've been together, we've had either a teenager (M) or a child (Jakey) with us. The time we spent hiking, and the time we spent stranded on the roadside, him tinkering with the engine and me looking for pretty rocks in the gravel, was SO great! I feel like we reconnected as a couple. (Note to Moni: I AM planning a "who is James" post soon, complete with pics and a bio) I think we've found some direction about where to go next... we each have some things to work on before we go deeper in our relationship. And "You Save Me" seems to be "our song"... I'm not sure which part he applies to me, but I think of him every time I hear "When I'm a refugee ready to run, all wild-eyed and crazy... no matter where my restless heart takes me, baby you save me"

My soul feels very full today. The love of James, a hug from my mom, support from all you all fabulous bloggers, and Mini-Cadbury Creme Eggs from Kim... life doesn't get much better than this. :o)
