Friday not only did I walk TO work, but I walked home from work too. I even took a different (and 2 blocks longer) route just to enjoy the view. So what did I see?
Tulips!!! Lots, and lots, and lots, and LOTS of tulips!!! lol I had no idea they came in so many colors!!!! My fave was this particular tulip, which is a bright pink with white edging:
These yellow with orange splotches were cool too!!!
More pink ones with white edging, but on this one the white shows up SO much better! And look, the red one seems to have some orange in it... *impressed*
Yellow ones are okay, I guess. I'm not much of a yellow person.

I love how very very red these tulips are.

These remind me of a peace rose, which I dearly love. See how the flowers are pink, and kinda yellow and orange on the insides? I love it!!
Ohhhhhhh... vibrant pink ones!!!!
Is that all I saw?? Of course not! I also saw this lovely dollie in someone's yard... with it's arms torn off??? Can we say "DEMENTED"?!
And guess who else I saw, FINALLY??
Yes, it was the famed "Kujo the Killer Corgi"!!!! It was very hot outside, so Kujo wasn't looking quite so scary... I have GOT to show you all a pic of his teeth! SERIOUS SCARINESS!!!! In this pic, Kujo just looks freakishly adorable.
I offered to pet Kujo, but he was not too into that idea. His yard buddy though, was ALL ABOUT THE LUV. Is he not just too cute??

The poor little guy needs a name though... anyone have ideas?? Post them here, and we'll have a vote later this week!! I'm sure his owners have already given him a name, but he definately needs a "stage name" for the blogging public.

I also saw this pretty birdie... anyone know what kind he is? I lost my books about the trees and birdies around here.

Here's another pic of him.... Do you not just wanna reach through the fence and hug his cuteness? (I did exactly that, and it was SO rewarding. I *heart* him, and am tempted to bring a doggie treat or two with me as I walk.)

Awwwww...flowers and dogs! What could be bad about that?! I love corgis, they're so cute, I didn't know they could also be vicious but I guess that happens. Look at all the adventures you experience on your walk. I hope your new shoes are holding up OK and taking care of your feet.
I wrote about foods that feed the other day and thought of you and all your food posts! You help inspire me to get back to food. We haven't been talking recently.
Oh and that's a robin, BTW! They're usually the first bird to show up and say spring is here but your tulips are already doing that.
That's a robin on your fence there. Lots of them around now that spring has finally arrived.
Love the tulip pictures. Don't know if you and James would be able to, but every year in Holland, MI they have a week that is called Tulip Time where they have the most AMAZING tulips planted all over the city, and you can go to see the dutch clompin dancing and all sorts of other such Dutch things. They breed alot of the worlds tulips there. They even have ones that are black, that sounds ugly but I've seen them and they are quite amazing. They also have a variety where the petals are ruffled and all sorts of colors, etc. You could stay with us :) I'll let you know the dates.
As far as dog names, I'm not good at dog names. But he sure is cute. Hobart the hugable? I don't know but there's my lame attempt at an idea.
Love ya!
Aren't tulips fun!? Hooray for spring!
Hooray for Hobart! lol
Maybe Kujo snuck out and attacked the creepy dolly.
I love tulips! I just wish they had sent, but their beauty makes up for it.
As for Kujo the Corgi, I am so surprised he is so mean, most Corgi's are sweet, my boss has one and I just adore her.
As for a name for the cute little dog, hmm...I like Scruffy.
Man, I wish blogger would let me write directly to you Jana! Yes, I was as shocked as you were that Paula Deen had a light cooking episode. It was as though I had been transported to another universe.
Healthy cooking and baking, if there is such a thing, is definitely on my agenda. I have library books out and am doing my research and hope that I can share what I find with you since that's a direction you're also going in. We shall unite! Yes! Lets do it. I promise to share my recipes with you and would love to hear what you come up with as well. I'm trying that healthier quiche tonight!
lovely lovely lovely!!!!
birds, dogs and Flowers, yay!!!
you don't know robins? You should sue wherever you went to school!
I think corgis are cute, but his yard companion is cuter...we have a dog that lives on the way to our cottage that has much the same look - we call him, lovingly, The Thing.
