Oh, wow... busy days! Last night went WAY better than I'd planned... I came home, ran most of my errands (except the most time-consuming one, which didn't need to be done after all), and watered ALL my plants. This is a big deal for me, since we have no hose hook up in our yard, so watering the plants means 5-10 trips all the way around the fenced-in yard to take water (in a watering can) to the plants. But, I did it, and now my plants are VERY happy. I fixed supper for me & my hubby, and made some art... want to see my newest projects?

James LOVES IBC root beer in these cute glass bottles, and I kept the empty ones around knowing I could do SOMETHING with them. This weekend I got inspired, and grabbed my supplies... and now we have pretty pink & blue vases waiting for some embellishment!
I also decided that if I'm going to be working so much on trying to eat healthier and eat out less, I needed a recipe book for the recipes we've tried and liked. And no, a plain black binder would NOT do the trick. It needed to be PRETTY!!! So I grabbed the binder, some scissors, and my cooking zines...

And made the binder Jana-ish!!!

I had SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun doing this.

I even decorated the back, and the insides!

Oh, I also haven't forgotten about our Ingredient of the Week. I'm just a little behind, so I will post it on Monday and then try to post every Monday like in the past.
In the meantime, go check out Suzie's blog to find
her newest recipe adventures.. she made a HEALTHY QUICHE!!!!! Holy. Freaking. Crap. I'm trying this as soon as I get some zuchini. And croutons... mmm.... croutons... *drooling a little*

Genius Jana! I have crappy second-hand falling apart boring binders for my recipe and am now totally and completely humbled. I love that you did this and maybe I will give it a shot too. I'm so glad you like the look of the quiche and hope you try it too! I've been living off it for DAYS.
Those bottles are sooo neat! How did you do them?
ZUcchini is the best - you can use it in anything...and if you plant it, it grows like topsy (given half a chance and some water) so you HAVE to use it in eveyrthing. Love your binder! I had a friend who haunted thrift shops and picked up used florist vases (we recycle ours - just take them back to the florist) and made vases with tissue paper like these. She did pretty brisk sales with them!
Beautiful creations! No doubt that cookbook will inspire all sorts of yummy goodness.
