WOWZAS!

This has been one seriously exciting weekend!!!!!

Friday night was supposed to be an official "Jana Holiday", but then I learned something very interesting. Let me give you a word to the wise.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

A Word to the Wise

Did you know that each time you use a debit card at a "Pay at the Pump", they put $50 of your money on hold?

No? Neither did I. Now, one trip to Massachussets & $800 of non-sufficient-funds later, I do know this. I also know that hotels place holds on your money in a similar fashion. I'm still finding it wierd that with $250 still in my account, they charged me NSF fees... but the bank had mercy on me *sarcastic laugh* and lowered the fees down to $400. Wasn't that nice of them?

So the official word to the wise? BANKS SUCK!!!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Now back to my originally scheduled blogpost:

My friend Brittany heard about how the bank completely screwed me over had mercy on me, and decided to figure out a plan to restore my cash flow. We took our boxes and all un-needed items from our lives, and joined a yard sale her family was having... and sold nothing. *sigh*

But on the way home, I happened to drive past a little store not too far from my house... and went in to ask if they would like to sell our boxes. Guess what? They agreed to sell our boxes! They gave us our own little SHELF! We give them 10% of all that we sell, and if we have good results, it is only $20 extra per month to rent an entire set of shelves! Ohana Art is OFFICIALLY in business!!! *happy dance*

So what did we do the rest of the weekend? Why, we CREATED of course! Brit & I and two of "my kids" spent some time making "ephemera" for the boxes out of dough, finding fun words from catalogs and such, and they did some painting. Brit added pics of her boxes to her myspace account, and I got some of my art supplies organized....

Altogether, the future is currently looking very bright!!!! :o)

Oh Jana, that's horrible about the bank. Recently I sent the bank a check for $15.00 for the luxury of having an overdraft. Well, some teller in Bank Universe posted $1500.00 instead. My account was overdrawn, I got charge a gozillion dollars in late fees and I felt powerless. A nice lady at the local branch of this gnourmous bank looked into it and fixed my account. But I had a sneaky suspicion that wasn't the end of it.

I am so glad that you found a place to sell your boxes, I love mine. It sits in on my bakers rack and every time I see it, I remember what a lovely person you are.

Well, I hope you have a great day.
Blessings, Karen

Jana-
The same thing happen to me about holding a certain amount when you stop and get gas and pay at the pump..in our state it is 70 dollars that is on hold...the hold stays for 24 hours here or until the next business day. Some nice clerk (after I saw the receipt and went in to complain)told me that the policy is standard in the industry...that is crazy...banks are making money off of unsuspecting customers left and right...I am so thrilled that your boxes are for sale in a store...you must be so elated.
Hope the rest of your week is supreme!

Jana, I would love to see your work, are you selling it online at all? I am new to your blog and would love to see your creations.

I'm so sorry to hear this about your bank situation! I had absolutely no idea this could happen, I wonder if they do that in Canada too? I have never noticed.

I answered your question on my blog BTW about the orbs but just to let you know, they are these white semi-transparent glowy things that shoe up on camera and film. Some people think they are angels, some ghosts, some energy. It's hard to say. I personally have never experienced one yet. I have links to people's sites who have been getting them a lot, lucky people!

OK, I'm babbling...LOL

Jana, I would ask for a box, but, since I'm moving, my money situation wont be to pretty!

That is such a bummer!! I had that very thing happen a few years back. I didn't know about the whole $50 bucks for a $20 tank of gas approval thing either. Not a big deal with ONE tank, but if you're travelling - a HUGE deal!

Sorry you're having to figure all this out.

Awesome news about your boxes! I hope you sell bunches of them!! :) I love the one you sent my swap package in a while back - so cheerful!!

Jana, you can find your very unusual reading here. I hope it helps! There is crazy energy going on around that situation, for sure! Good thing is there will be true love.

Those "whims" can sometimes be the best choices you make in your lifetime, and you'll look back and think, "Whoa...if I hadn't walked into that store..." (for example) hee-hee.

Okay, I have to say it - damn the man! (aka the bank)

But yippee you for being in business and having your own shelf in a store! Congratulations! And yay you for going in and asking. You rock, Jana!
