Business Plan?

Just a quick note from Brittany and I....

Do any of you know any good books or websites out there with advice on how to make a business plan from your art?

I'm sorry, I don't know of any books in that way but just had to tell you I adored the bloody footprints and naked toddlers running through the grass at night stories! We give our neighbours something to talk about don't we?

sure - I have tons of business plan stuff on my website about art, but you have to sift - click on the "business" of art in the of topic lists and go back to early last year (April? May?) - I was working on business plans then (as I am now).

Just a suggestion, and you can follow along with me on my current blogging: who is your ideal customer? If you know that (who buys you work) then the rest of the plan, which is more about marketing than business, although you need the financial side plugged in too, should just kind of fall out.

Hint: this isn't an exercise where you sit down and fill in the blanks. This is an exercise where you journal a lot about what you see as success, what you want, what your customer wants. A lot. Then over a period of a week or two of asking the same question and journaling some more, and reading stuff in magazines and on the internet, you start to get the idea of just exactly what it is your hunting.

By the way - love the photos and the recap of the trip!
