No Anxiety?!

Well, as you all know, I'm supposed to go this entire week without worrying. SEVEN STINKIN' DAYS. *glaring intently at my Pastor*

So, how's it working for me?

IT'S NOT!

I went to take down the textured wallpaper that superroomie had installed in the living room... "Oh, it'll come RIGHT off" she said... you can just grab it where the cat clawed the heck out of it, and pull!

Oh yeah. It pulled... the TOP layer! There is still a layer of paper on the walls, which I have NO CLUE how to get off.

So I went on with life, went to pick up a trash bag to throw the old wallpaper in... and touched something wet. OH yeah. The cat had peed ALL OVER THE BAG!

So, being the loving and kindhearted person that I am, I yelled, screamed, and chased her into another room, where she promptly hid behind a pile of boxes. A bottle of raid was conveniently located nearby, so i grabbed it up and threw it! (at the BOXES, not at the cat... hoping to scare her out, so I could grab her and stick her nose in the bag and beat the living snot out of discipline her accordingly.

Instead, the bottle of raid hit the floor, smashing in the little button that makes stuff come out, and STUCK! So I ran around, trying to figure out what in the heck to do with the raid spewing everywhere! Finally, I decided to put it in a trash bag, and YES, I grabbed the one with cat pee on it... ranting and raving... finally figured out how to undo the button so it would stop spraying.

Then, my nice cool house was filled with Raid fumes... (picture a freaking cloud, plus assorted wet spots of Raid and/or cat pee on the floor) I tried to open the door, but it was like 1 million degrees out there, so I decided to just get high on Raid... lol Which may explain all the extra energy I had last night, which caused me to not get much sleep....

And guess what the sleep deprivation is causing me????

Yep. Anxiety.

So much for THAT idea. *still glaring intently at pastor* AND I still haven't told you about the owie on my knee OR how I almost made myself bald!!!

I think tomorrow I'll just stick to worrying... it's a lot less stressful. *sigh*

I definitely think you should go back to worrying!

I'll be thinking about you....and I'm curious about the almost going bald, and the hurt knee episodes.

Not to get amusement out of your misfortune but you make me laugh... especially the last line. Your whole account of the cat, the Raid, the garbage bag, etc. sounds like a SNL skit. I'm glad you are past it and I dearly hope that you can get some rest tonight.

Sending hugs!

Sounds like something that would happen to me! I think you might be trying too hard not to worry. The Bible says to strive to enter into God's rest, but not so much so that you end up frazzled. Just take it a day at a time. You're not going to go an entire week without worrying, but as you begin to choose to change your train of thought, it will get easier to not automatically start to worry. I want to hear about your knee and almost going bald!!

Jana, I don't know whether to laugh or cry for you! It's the unique times like those in life that you will look back on and laugh at... good memory even if starting from something NOT so fun!

Mental note: don't throw cans of bug spray. Thanks for the tip!

wall paper - there's a thing you can rent that steams that part of the wall paper off; but before you do that, try just spraying with a spritzer, waiting a minute or two and then take a scraper and scrape it off. I used a spackle "knife" (which isn't a knife - it's what you put spackle on with and then smooth it out - the metal one).

Other than that, I can say that in a while you will look back and read this and laugh like you've made all the rest of us (with you).
