Happy Monday everyone!!!!
This weekend was SO FULL!!!!
I did shopping for the new house... I now have a set of saucepans, a rolling pin, a bundt cake pan, a cookie sheet, a set of wooden spoons, a spagetti measurer & spagetti spoon, and some new big spoons. I think that takes care of most of the things I need now! Woo hoo!
I had a serious talk with my Mom yesterday, about what DID happen the summer we lived with the Grandparents... we sat and talked, with tears running down my cheeks, about what had happened... it seems that they didn't give up on me (which is how I felt, as a child... they saw me as I really was, and quit loving me that summer) Instead, there were all kinds of things that the grandparents were dealing with in their own life, under the surface, that I didn't know were happening until way later. Things make a lot more sense now.
I've been knitting again lately, after not knitting for what seems like forever! I'm actually starting to get a little faster at it too!
I got to spend Mother's Day with M, which was kind of wierd... at church, they asked all the moms to come forward and M told me to go, but since I didn't give birth, I figured no one would understand... she's not mine on paper, or through blood... I love her like a daughter, but I'm not sure that matters to anyone but her and I... and really... it doesn't need to.
I'm still working on coming up with a design for the living room and office/studio/Jakey's playroom of MY HOUSE. (Sorry, i still get excited saying those words! lol) I'm trying to make it look BIGGER, and clean, and airy... right now it looks "cozy", which to me means dark, confined, and uncomfy. It must be redone, soon, to allow light into my house, or I will wither and die.
Anyone know of any good websites about interior design, or cheap ways to redo a home? Anyone have suggestions?

Hi Jana!
RYC - We did not sing the peanut song! In fact, I don't think I even know the peanut song! Doh! I'll have to have Jami sing it to me. :)

PS: Congrats on the house! Home ownership is stressful, but very rewarding!

cheap: paint. lots of light colored paint. White ceilings. Take the curtains off the windows and just use blinds or shades that open all the way during the day. Plants except I put all my plants outdoors in the summer. It keeps them happy. If you want to come to my house (=]) I'll give you plants to take home. Spider plants and philodendrum (sp?) clean the air and are easy to take care of. A water fountain somewhere or a fish tank with a bubbler - you don't have to have fish - the sound is very cool tho.
I second the "paint". If the walls are any shade much darker than white, bring them up to white or a pastel. Or use wallpaper if you prefer. Make sure any furniture you use is as light-colored and as small as possible and still get the job done.
I don't actually agree with the "remove the curtains" though. I have found that a good set of light-colored totally sheer curtains makes a room feel airier to me than no curtains at all. That may not be the case for you, but something to consider, at least.
