Baby Names?

No, I'm not ranting about labels today. I'm tired of ranting.

Instead, I decided to entertain you with my baby-naming! Lets face it... baby names are much more exciting than telling you about the past week of my life (Leave work - grab fast food - clean/organize house - sleep - wake - work - lather - rinse - repeat), how poison ivy has attacked my arms and I want to scratch them until they bleed, or how the baby-creation efforts are going for us. (Cuz really, what kind of perv would you have to be to want to know those details? LOL)

So here are my fave girl names, and the nicknames I would use if we used them.

Annalysa - Anni - "Grace, Devoted to God"
Alexandra - Alex, Lexi - "Defender of Men"
Elysa - Elly - "Dedicated to God"
Isabella - Izzy - "Consecrated to God"
Jasmyn - Jaz - the flower. Duh.
Julyanna - Jewlz - "Downy" (Hey, isn't that a fabric softener? Wierd!)
Louissa - Luey? What do you call a Louisa for short? - "Famous Warrior"
Katheryn - Kat - "Pure"
Olyvia - Libby - "Elf Army" What the heck?!
Rose-Marie - Rosie
Violet - Vi

Yes, I like cute little girly-girl names with kick-butt crazy nicks.

What baby names do YOU like?

ok, let's forget about good baby names for a minute. When my dh and I were thinking of a name for our firstborn we read a newspaper article and here's some of the weird names people 10 years ago named their babies:
zzr500 (after a motorbike)
Syphillis
Benson and Hedges (twins, after the cigarettes)

Can't remember the rest but they sure made us laugh.

I loved the name Stormey Raine, if I were to have a girl, no nicknames, I am stickler for that, don't ask me why?

Boys, I got what I wanted, hee...except I loved the name Sebastian.

Jessie for my first (not Jessica) which morphed into Pie and Merlie (I have no idea) and then we combined grandpas for the 2nd: John Samuel, which shortly became Jay, then JayBird/Birdie, and now more often than not: The Boy (after bart simpson and it stuck). These are my favorite names because they go with my favorite kids.

Hey, come over to my blog and comment on my Alyson interview, please. I need visitors. =]

I like the names I gave to my girls, Gwendolyn Rose and Mikaela Marie so I like the Rose Marie with the Rosie nickname. Are you guys trying to have a baby? Piece of advice for free: I would not rush to do that until you have been married a few years. It takes time getting used to being with eachother and when you throw a baby into the mix, it changes everything. Plus it's good to have finances in order too if you plan to stay home with the baby. Although if finances were an issue, no one would be having kids. I'm just saying you'd need to be in a position that if you no longer had your income you could still survive. That's just my opinion so take it for whatever it's worth. Babies are amazing however!

(Hi! I found your blog after you left a comment on my stitch7.com blog about some recipes I had posted, and you mentioned your foodie site, so here I am!) My cousin named her daughter Louisa, and they call her Lulu for short. Or "Isa" (ee-suh) is also cute. And my neice is named Olivia and we all call her Liv and Livy. And my sis is having a baby girl in August and naming her Isobel, Izzie for short, gotta love that cute name! I really like your names you have picked out, but I love baby names, and had tons of fun picking out the names for each of my children. I even went so far as to give each of them two middle names, just as my parents had done for me and my siblings. I also looked into the meaning behind each of their names, it's more fun that way too, and they love it when I tell them the "story" behind their names too.
