Week in Review

It is FINALLY Friday!!! I thought this day would NEVER come.
So what has been going on in my little life? Welll.... I made my first quilt block this week! Not bad for the first one, right?

I also attempted to cook every worknight this week! (Tuesday - Thursday... the days James works.)

Tuesday I made a new skillet meal. Hash browns, canned chili peppers, cilantro, eggs, mushrooms... not too bad, except I scortched it.

Wednesday I tried an experiment... I marinated a chicken breast in a mojito, and then tried to use the leftover mojito, along with some cilantro, to make a sauce to pour over the chicken. I tried to make Jami's recipe for cilantro-lime rice, but I didn't exactly follow the directions.... *sigh* NOT my best meal. James loved the glaze/gravy over the chicken, but it was too sweet for me. I also made a dump cake for desert, which would have been better had I not forgotten to turn the burner off after cooking the rice, and then laid the cake pan on top of it. *sigh* Still, most of the cake DID survive.

Last night I made philly cheese steaks, french fries, and corn... the meal turned out delish!!! Thanks Andrea & Sherwood for re-giving the steak & hoagie buns back to us!

I've made several more ornaments, got some cleaning done, and several other things to show for this week...

My computer is still down, and probably won't be fixed til Monday or later. Hence the lack of visits to all of your blogs... Sowwy!!!

And now it's almost time for me to go home for the weekend! YEAH!!!!!

Happy weekend everyone!

What are your plans for this weekend?

If you think of cooking as a science experiment, you can be grateful nothing blew up! lol
And now, you know what to do for next time. Just keep tweaking your methods, and in time, they'll all be super awesome.
I'm sorry the rice didn't work out so well as you hoped!
