My friend Brittany, who is due to have a baby around Thanksgiving, started having contractions last night!!!!!!!!!! (And we all know, nothing can distract you from grief like the thought that someone might be having a baby on your couch!!! LOL)
Aunt Jana was busy scurrying around the house, packing a bag for herself (yarn, baby patterns, etc.) and a bag for Gracie - age 2 (crayons, coloring books, cereal to snack on, spare clothes & diapers)
Brits contractions have slowed for the moment (she is at my house, with my cell phone beside her... she started having strong contractions while there last night, and decided she wasn't up to walking long enough to go home. ) She has an appointment this afternoon with the doctor/midwife to tell them about the contractions and have them look at her and tell her what to expect at this stage.
It's all so exciting!!!!!!!
As Brit was having her contractions, and we were writing them down on a little sheet, I decided to do my AEDM project for the night: My first Mandala!!
Tammy V drew this picture and put it online for us all to color at our leisure!! I had SO much fun coloring her... in colors I'd always wanted to use, but never really found a place to use... But they really seem to fit her.
Here is another pic I took of it, this one has better color:

It's beautiful! I absolutely love the design and choice of colours Jana. What is a "AEDM project"?
It is so exciting! Isn't it nature's way to replace our thoughts and sadness on death with the movement of life? How beautiful. I'm glad you're feeling better Jana.
Babies Coming bring such excitement and joy to those around....

Well, I'm sure if I could see I would think your art was brilliant! And, I love babies! Maybe it'll be here on nov 10, my uncle's girthday, or nov 24, my aunt's birthday, or nov 27, mom's birthday!
What a beautiful picture - the colours are so alive.
And how wonderful that you're with your friend at such an important time. I'm glad that life has given you something to celebrate.
Thinking of you.

Well - I've been AWOL so I thought I'd run through - and lookie! this is GREAT!!!! aren't mandalas fun? And I have so gotten addicted to crayons this AEM - I'm down past the points and peeling paper. I will need new crayons by the end of the month (and that's a GOOD thing!).
Re following posts - good for taking care of yourself. All good things flow from that!
