I had written on here about "The Wilderness", and the scary ivies growing there.

Upon seeing this pic, my cousin informed me that the ivy I had was NOT poison ivy.
"Leaves of three, let them be" she quoted proudly. I, the younger cousin, stupidly believed her.So this weekend, James and I set to work cleaning the area up!

And getting rid of all of the ivy! Without protective clothing, since this was NOT a poisonous plant.

*sigh* I've started a poison ivy tracker on my right sidebar, to track how the rash is spreading.
Cousins suck sometimes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The sucky cousin mentioned here is NOT my way-cool blogging cousin, Amy. She still rocks. Just so ya know.

oh dear
can you get creams a=or something to stop it
Yikes! They do look to me like they have 3 leaves in that last pic - um, doesn't that mean the rhyme is right? Though I guess it might be hard to tell on some computers. So sorry that happened to you - how's James? Hope you feel better soon! Sending virtual healing ((hugs))
By the first glance of the pic, I knew it looked like poison ive, but seeing three leaves I would have taken precautions.
I am so sorry kiddo, I hope it heals up fast!
Thanks for the clarification there on which cousin is STILL cool!! One look at that pic, and that is totally poison ivy! I'm sorry you got it :(
you know what? that close up picture looks like creeper to me, but you may have poison ivy in amongst all that other stuff, it only takes a little, or even just roots, for sensitive folks. The yard looks great!....what a great tree those trash bags are beside - it looks huge and old and just right for hugging.
looks so wonderfully clean but so sorry to hear about the poison ivy ~ eep!! hugs!
