Glorious Grief

I had the most AWESOMELY WONDERFUL chat with my dad's girlfriend last night.

After chatting with Kim for a while, I FINALLY got up the courage to call dad's g/f (Her name is Sheri)... and instead of a sobbingly-sad conversation, laced with traumatic memories...(which was what I'd been dreading) We had an absolutely awesome conversation, filled with memories that were not traumatic, and lots of laughter!

So tomorrow I'm off to her town, to deliver some stuff to her and to Dad's best friend... things I've been meaning to do for quite some time. Yes, we'll probably have sad moments... I'll probably cry some. But grief being shared is so special, almost sacred... definately worth a few tears.

Remembering the good with others who remember, too, certainly helped me.
