Holy crap...
Curiosity got the best of me, so I actually watched the Republican Convention...
PALIN ROCKED!!!! I especially enjoyed:
The "up yours" she gave to the media & political bigwigs, when she bluntly told them she wasn't here for their benefit.
The crack on Obama's inexperience, when she pointed out her ACTUAL RESPONSIBILITIES as the mayor of her small town, as opposed to the duties of a community organizer... (what DID Obama do in that capacity? Gotta look that up later. But the crack amused me.)
Her way of dealing with wasteful government spending in Alaska.
"The luxury jet was a little over the top...
*dramatic pause*
I sold it on Ebay."
I rolled in laughter at this!!!
My question now? WHY, WHY, WHY must she be running with McCain???????????? *extremely sad sigh*
More to come later... serious analysis of Palin's speech and claims, contrasts with Democratic Convention speeches, and a rant about baby Trig.

She did an awesome job! I was going to vote for McCain, but wow, she really helped that decision along.
It was great!
Even thought she is incredibly controversial, choosing her was the smartest thing McCain could have done for his campaign. There are a lot of Hilary people out there who don't like Obama and now they will be attracted to McCain. Goodness though, can the world live with another four years of Republican domination?
I don't want to start a fire storm on your blog Jana, but I want to jump in with my disagreement!
A LOT of statements that Palin made about Obama were untruths.
I urge you to do some digging on the Internet and see for yourself. I am not out to change your mind in any way - everyone is entitled to their choice/opinion. However, being educated IS so important. Don't just take anyone on their spoken word. Voting records, legislation, ALL public record, so you can see for yourself.
The one opinion I will put here is this: If Palin wanted to keep her family in private, out of the spotlight, as she has asked of the media, then she needs to keep them out of her speeches, and rallies. She is bringing them into it!
/rant off. Please remove this comment if it offends you in any way! :)
I heart Palin and would absolutely vote for her as President, if I could. Finally, someone to support in this race! YAY!!! :-)
I watched with Jana last night and all I can say is They are all politicians and are we really safe voting for any of them. I'm not a person big into politics for the fact that most of them pretty much just want our money. I don't know. I guess the best thing to do is to vote who you think is best for the job and hope to GOD that you choose the right one. Peace out. And yeah Palin had me about rolling on the floor also.
I too, was very impressed with her. She truly was awesome!
I loved the part where she the only difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull was lipstick! That was classic!
Oh, this is so sad! So Palin gets to say "this is private" about her daughter, but if my daughter wanted to have an abortion Palin would say it's her/Palin's right to tell us that our decision isn't private. That her beliefs get to define my family. And y'all say "way to go." I am a community based organizer - 18 years - as well as an artist. My responsibilites are to the folks in the community - to help them rspond to issues that are affecting them (not to require that they follow whatever it is I'm concerned about at the moment). I have saved a hospital with seniors, saved a kidney program and gotten it funded with a blind man who had lost both legs to kidney disease, I have assurd that 148 families didn't get kicked out of their homes by a slum lord and the local Naval base and that's just a start. I'm proud of my profession and I know it isn't well known - that y'all don't even know what it is and think it's funny speaks volumes about discernment.
And she voted for the bridge to nowhere that she keeps saying she didn't vote for. And she was a member of an organization that wanted Alaska to secede from the US.
I am sorry, Jana, about your job.

just in case you want to educate yourself on community based organizing
I have made a point not to watch any of the political conventions on either side. I have already made my decision for the most part. I just keep wishing there was a none of the above category on the ballot and we could start this process with some real people instead of politicians... only in a perfect world.
