At 1:30PM today I was told I was going to be laid off. I'll be paid for tomorrow although I'm not working, I just needed to work til 4:30 today.
I knew more layoffs were coming... I knew they'd be coming in another month or so...
I didn't expect them to be today.
Tomorrow I'll hit the unemployment office and start looking for new jobs... renew my status with Manpower, apply for the local hospitals online...
But for today, I'd just like to cry, and maybe drink. Three years of seeing the same people, day after day... it feels very wierd to be living without them around. My boss, the source of so many of my rants, hugged me as I left. I'm gonna miss him, and our spats.
So tonight I'm gonna wallow... drink some, overeat, watch a Star Wars movie, try to force myself to watch McCain speak (bleh)....
And tomorrow I'll get up and find a job.

I left work in tears today and I am sorry that you did too.
I wish I had my own company so I could hire all of my dear friends.
I hope you find something a lot better, with a respectable salary, and benefits.
Take a small break before you launch on the job hunt, though. Just get refreshed.

Oh man Jana! I'm so sorry to hear this news. I know it has to be tough for you.
Sounds like you have a great attitude though and I know you'll find other work quickly! (And maybe better with less stress!!)

Oh Jana, I am so sorry. That is such a hard blow. I'm thinking of you.
So icky. Even though the job caused you stress, I know you will miss your work and coworkers. I fully expect some better opportunity to appear for you, so, will be praying for you. /hugs
Wow...Jana...changes to come...things always evolve and get better...it's the law..I see good things for you!
Sorry about your job. We know what that is all about for sure. But at least you will get unemployment, which Jon was never able to get, and you have a husband who's income can support you both. Hopefully this will bring something better for you.
